FAQs

Can I join if I am a carer?

Yes. As the caregiver of a disabled person, you may accompany them on Knoticat for the duration of the trip. You must fill out a membership form before boarding.

What food should I bring?

Sandwiches, snacks, fruit and drinks are good options. We cannot cook food aboard the Knoticat so anything that is already cooked or items that do not need cooking are best. We serve tea and coffee during the trip.

How long do the trips last for?

Typically it is half a day. We say from approx 11am to 3pm.

Is the trip completely free?

We are 100% free. In fact we have never charged any fees to join our day outings. If you are disabled or a caregiver of a disabled person, please contact us and arrange a trip. Just join our Club and contact us to take advantage of this as soon as you can.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The skipper will contact you the night before the trip and inform you whether the trip will go ahead based on the current forecast.

Do I need any experience with sailing to join a trip?

We love our members to get involved and try ‘hands on’ sailing. There is a skipper present at all times so you will have a chance at steering and navigating WITHOUT needing any prior experience to your trip.
